![]() Dawson has recycled this look several times during Winter! A simple white shirt under a Khaki jacket from Stussy. Blue Levis and trusty Lacosts completes this casual and practical look. A Word From The EditorHey! Hey! Welcome to our very chilled Winter edition of Fashionable Eye. Sydney! Is it cold enough for ya? *smile*. With the temperature ever dropping and financial stability still not entirely assured, this season's Fashionable Eye has embarked on a theme. A theme of keeping you warm, looking good, staying well below budget and becoming more sustainable! Yes! sustainable! I took a thought provoking university subject in my final semester as an undergrad at UTS. It sent me into the depths of guilt, as I pondered Fashionable Eye's role in society. Did you know that pre-loved discarded clothing is a major item which fills our landfills, and a lot of the materials are not bio-degradable? So our role of encouraging you to buy more! Buy more?!? How does that help our planet and our own individual affects due to the current global financial situation? Thus this season our writers have been reminded to think sustainable, think value for money, think practical when constructing their articles, thus commencing two seasons of greener articles. So Fashionable Eye plays its part for society. *nods*. So I too set out to make a statement this season. Normally I'm a person who has a bad habit of always wearing and showing up in something different each time you meet up with me. As you know, this habit can't be kind on your credit balance. However as the Editor's pic exhibits (capturing me for the umpteenth time recycling this very same look this month), this outfit of jeans, simple white shirt and my 3 year old Khaki Stussy jacket had proved to be... simple, practical, and 100% non-flashy, but it did manage to keep me warm, surprisingly carefree, feeling good and feeling ever better as I had a few more bucks in my pocket at the end of a day. *thumbs up*. So the moral is purchasing quality sedate items today, will save you money in the future, as it lasts and lasts, while not drawing too much attention to yourself, so you can wear the same combination again and again! I'd like to turn your attention now to this season's article highlights: "The 3 Budget Commandments For Winter 09", "the R Word", and part II of "School Uniform, An Exposé" In addition I'd love to introduce to you our two gorgeous models who has joined the Fashionable Crew this Winter, Frances and the multi-talented Kara, who brings even more glam to our already glamorous posse. So the Fashionable Eye team has braved the cold, adapted ourselves to financial circumstances and fitted in their FE duties amongst university exams to bring to you our 11th edition of Fashionable Eye. We hope you enjoy the read! Dawson Ko. |
